Querido Familia y Amigos,
Thank you all so much for all the wonderful emails! I'm sorry I don't really have enough time to email everyone back if I want to get in all the info from my week! But just know that I love you all and I do get some time to think about you all in my busy schedule here at the CCM. :)
Our very first day here we didn't do anything with Spanish so I was really exctied to finally start learning the next day! Our maestros speak to us usually aobut 85% en Español so it can be hard and frustrating at times when you dont quite understand what they are telling you but cool other times when the spirit helps you understand at least 60% of it haha. I actually understood a lot more the very first day in the morning than any of our other lessons but I know it will improve.
The food here is very good as I had heard from many before I got here so it's always a good thing to look forward to. We have three meals a day which consist of (as presumed) rice and potatoes and potatoes and rice.. haha no we have lots more things that are super yummy. There is always some sort of meat for lunch and dinner every day and usually potatoes in any way shape or form they can make them. There have been quite a lot of different ways haha. Oh and we always have rice also. Its plain rice but they season it a bit and its super good. Soo... I'm hoping that I'm doing enough exercise to work all that off... haha. We have an hour every day to get out and exercise and two of those day we've played sand volleyball and grass volleyball so it's been fun. My first few days here I could barely stay awake after lunch but it's getting a lot better so i'm finally adjusting to the busy schedule :).
Mom- I'm not sure if you were still planning on sending my face medicine here but they mentioned that I think we'll have to pay a fee or something no matter what to get it so I think its just best to wait expecially because you never know if it wont get to me in time so if you haven't already sent it then maybe it's best to wait :). Also Mom and Dad- Could you possibly find me one of those passport holders that have a skinny strap and it just goes around your neck and shoulder like a mini side bag? A few sisters have those and they look a lot easier and (cuter) haha than the waist one with the thicker strap. They said they got there's at Walmart so that would be awesome if you could get me one!
So yesterday me and my companion as well as a whole other group of missionaries got to go out of the CCM and change our money into Soles! That was a nice 25 minute adventure haha we even talked a little bit to a local woman who was really sweet. She said she wanted to come visit us at the CCM.. I wanted to tell her good luck getting in in the nicest way because they have huge gates and walls around the whole facility haha but we just smiled and said oh cool haha. We had some Latino Hermanas with us so they pretty much translated everything which was nice.
A few things that Sister Harper and I have observed here is that the birds sometimes just all of a sudden go crazy haha and people LOVE to honk their horns. It's a crazy car jungle out there when you're on the street. Scary! haha but we had one of the Brothers form the MTC drive us to change our money and he was a very good driver so no worries :)
Well I'm sorry but I have to log off now suddenly.. they said we were going to have an hour but looks like only thirty minutes darn it. I love you all!! I will email next week and I'm sorry I didn't get to explain everything. Love you al!
Love,
Hermana Forsey
Haha an hermano just came in again and said we really do have an hour! lol so here I am again..
So this Saturday we get to go out and proselyte in the steets! Everyone is super nervous for that but I'm pretty excited :)
Today we get to go out and catch a bus to the temple in an hour which will be pretty exciting. We have two hours after the temple to go out and shop for things we need and to get back to the CCM which is awesome.
We met and taught our first investigator last night.. OH BOY. Let's just say it wasn't the best 20 minutes here haha As soon as we started talking to Francisco, I just went BLANK. haha I pretty much had my companion talk the whole time haha he would say something to us and I was like hmm... NADA so I turned to my companion and was like, do you know what to say?? haha I'm hoping our lesson goes better tonight ;)
We also watched the Leadership Broadcast Dad! I LOVED it! It was so cool to be here during that I know that I am right in the middle of everything as a missionary now! How cool is that!? I loved all the talks and the spiritual messages. Sunday was the most spiritual day I've had here so it was just a great day all around. We watched a few other things including The Joseph Smith movie which was a nice tender mercy and I absolutely LOVE that movie :)
Ok well I love you all and I wish you the best of luck in everything this week! Adios!
Love,
Hermana Forsey
