POOF and no more converter!
Hola Familia y Amigos,
First off, Michone I'm so glad you are ok!! You guys are always in my prayers! (Michone and the girls were in a car accident last week)
This week went really well here in Cochabamba. We had intereviews with the president this past Wednesday which went really well. President Dyer is awesome and has so much love for this mission and for the Lord. He told me I'm a good missionary too! haha He said that and then was like "Why don't you quote me on that?" Haha so there ya go ;)
We have been working with the Castro family who has a son that is a member and we had a couple good lessons with them this past week. The mom is still pretty tough with her religion but we are being patient with her ;)
We have a new investigator that we started teaching this past week that is our firts GOLDEN GOLDEN investigator! He went to General Conference and then to church this past Sunday and we are preparing him for baptism this Saturday! So we need all the prayers we can get! He is awesome and is super humble and willing to make a change in his life. We had two really good lessons with him and we have a few scheduled this week to prepare him.
Soo.. Dad.. I was using my blow dryer this week and it fell out of the transformer/converter thing I have and I didn't think to turn off my blow dryer before I plugged it back in.. so I plugged it in.. and POOF! Yeah my converter doesn't work anymore.. And the only ones here they have that have as many watts as the one I had are HUGE. So I ended up buying a new blow dryer I can just plug in regularly here and a small converter for my camera and ipod.
Lucky you guys I have a few more Bolivia facts! ;)
-Dogs with three legs are a normal thing.
-They eat jello like Mormons here! (except lot's more flavors than just green)
-If you've got laundry detergent and water, you've got flour cleaner, bathroom cleaner, dish soap and whatvever else you can imagine!
-EVERYTHING has a holiday here. I'm sure they even have one for paper...
-If you walk around selling fruit in a cart, You're not legit if you don't have a high pitch voice and a megaphone yelling "piña manzana manzana manzana!"
-Fed Ex does it motorcycle style here.
-The dogs here know to look both ways before crossing.
-If you don't have sprinklers, just turn the hose on high enough and let go. It will do the whole job for you!
That's all for this week but I'll see if I can think up any more ;)
Mom, the weather is actually pretty chilly here right now.. well at least today. Since it's beginning the rainy season it's a lot more cool when it rains but it's super hot when it doesn't. So it's actually pretty nice to get a little rain :) I think It rains more in the nights here though so we'll see as we get more into the season.
Cambios are next Sunday! Ah so we aren't sure what's going to happen but I actually really hope I stay here so I can get these investigators baptised! Haha But I know that if I get changed, it's what the Lord wants and that I'm needed somewhere else.
For a spiritual thought this week I was reading in Alma 26 and I loved verse 27. At times we are depressed and we feel like turning back or giving up, but if we keep our trust in the Lord and look to Him, he will comfort us and bring us success. Patience really is a virtue and we've had to have a lot of it in our area but we are taught that with patience and long suffering we will soon have success and happiness :) Never give up when the times get rough. It is then that that the Lord is testing your patience the most and seeing how you will use your faith.
Thank you so much everyone for all the love and support. I don't know what I would do without all of you! Take care this week and don't forget to smile! A smile is one of the cheapest things we can give to another person. :) Love you all!!
Love,
Hermana Forsey
