week 5
Companion: Hermana Harper (Orem, Utah)
pictures, pictures, pictures YOU ASKED FOR IT!
Dear Family and Friends,
Thank you ALL so much for the loving emails! I took pictures of them so I can read them tonight because I am going to try sending pictures this week! My teacher, Hermana Loayza put them on my flash drive for me so I could plug them into the computer so that was super sweet of her. Oh and if any of my teachers from here add me on facebook will you please add them for me? Their names are Miluska Loayza (who says hi by the way ;)), Bryan Ibarra, and Henry Laurente. I know that Bryan has a picture with me in it that he put up and he added me already. Loayza copied all my pictures on to her flashdrive so ill see if she wants to post some and tag me in them.
Mom, I don't think I can get on my blog. We are only allowed to be on email or like lds.org and stuff. But that's ok :) Maybe you can send me a picture of it? Haha.
My companion Hermana Harper is from Orem Utah and she is 1/4 indian! So we have a little in common there! oh yeah! I thought me and Jenni were different but that's nothing compared to me and Hermana Harper haha, but that's good though because we compliment each other in our lessons ;) She LOVES reading and writing and she's got a ton of fun stories to share about her family too, so there's always a great laugh at the meal table ;)
This week we got Latina roommates! WOOHOO! We have had two empty beds in our room for the past 4 weeks and we were hoping that we would get some Latinas in there. It's an MTC miracle! haha We were just super happy because we can practice our spanish a lot more with them. They are super cute and have great personalities. Their names are Hermana Hinostroza and Hermana Lopez.
Last pday after I already emailed, we went to the temple and then to the store. On our way back to the CCM on the bus (which is only like a five minute ride) I sat right by this man that started talking to me in English! He looked american but I guess he's full peruvian. He spoke English very well which was definitely a tender mercy in the short time we had to talk.... Well.. he started asking what we were here for and I was just thinking, well let me tell ya!! Haha I told him we were missionaries and then he asked what we did and that was even better! haha I explained that we go around preaching our gospel. I remembered that I had a Book of Mormon in my bag from proselyting and it had my testimony in it too! So I whipped it out and asked if he was familiar with it. He had never seen it before. So I ended up giving him a three minute rundown of the Apostacy, first vision and restoration! It was amazing and I told him about how we believe in the Bible too and how they work hand in and with eachother. It was so amazing to see the light and interest in his eyes as I was speaking to him. I had barely any time so I ended up just telling him to read it because it is an amazing book. Later I was trying to tell my roommates about the experience but I had the hardest time explaining how I summed everything up. I realized that it was all the spirit and the English was just a HUGE bonus haha. Now if only I could do all that in Spanish in 3 minutes ;)
I'm super excited to go proselyting this Saturday so I will let you all know how it goes next week:)
We are headed to the temple in an hour and all of our teachers are coming with us too so if they get pictures they will probably put them on Facebook. Thank goodness for Facebook! haha
Again, thank you all so much for the love and support. I don't know what I would do without it :)
For my spiritual message: We need to continually remember that we have a loving Heavenly Father who is aware of us. He will not forget us no matter what, even if we forget Him. When he says, "If ye love me, keep my commandments" I think of that as more of a plea. He wants us to live with Him again so badly and it breaks His heart to see people choose otherwise. He IS our Father. He DOES love us. NEVER FORGET THAT :)
I love you all and stay safe this week!!
Love,
Hermana Forsey
p.s. Sorry I didn't really reply to anyone! I will read all your emails tonight on my camera!
