Hola Familia y Amigos,
Happy Late Halloween!! Hope you all had fun and ate lots of candy! Haha Mom, Dad, Cam, and Aunt Laura, sounds like you guys had a ball haha loved the photos!
So we postponed the baptism of Ariel because he still isn't quite ready and there are a couple things we still need to teach him. It was his birthday this past Friday and his family came up from Potosi where he lives. (He was living with his Aunt for a while because he broke his leg and he was here while it healed) The very sad news is that his family took him back with them and so we're not sure what's going to happen with him whether he's going to come back or not :( So that was a bummer to hear. I just pray and hope that he can remember the things we taught him and return sometime to get baptised because they don't have a church where he lives. Who knows maybe this is just part of God's plan to help him realize the feelings he had with the Spirit and he's going to miss that and want to come back.
We are still working and teaching Marilene, who is from Brazil. She is awesome and loves to learn more and more about the church. She came to church for the second time and loved it again. She was so happy to be there and the members are really helping out with making her feel welcomed and loved. She has one friend who is in the ward that picks her up for church which is so nice because it helps our investigators so much to have a familiar face at church. We still have quite a bit of work with her to help her understand more and we also need to teach her the different commandments. Once we get the Word of Wisdom out of the way, that will speed up the progress a ton I think. Please pray that she will take things well and have a desire to change her habits and that it will very easy for her. I know that God can perform miracles and that he can help Marilene change her life for the better.
We had a couple lessons with Hermano Gustavo's mom, Roxana this past week and also with Gustavo. Roxana just has the biggest fear to change. We have these awesome lessons with her where the spirit is so strong but her heart is just so closed that the spirit can't enter in. She is Catholic and wants nothing more which makes things a little hard. If we can just get here to pray and to ask Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus Christ if these things that we are teaching her are true that would make help a TON. She says that she might pray and ask. I can understand how she has fear to change because she has been Catholic all her life and it is something she has grown to love. Change is hard but we can never realize what happiness is ahead if we don't open our hearts and allow the Lord to help us understand. So she could use a lot of prayers.
Mom, I learned how to make fondant this past week! Haha Roxana is in a class where they make desserts and cakes and stuff (I can't remember the name in English haha) but she has to make a cake like the cakes you have made. So we helped her the other day with making the fondant and laying it on the cake mold. It's a good thing I've watched you a lot with making cakes that I could help her and give her a few pointers haha. It was fun doing that and it reminded me of being home helping you with your cakes.(which consisted mostly of watching you do them haha) So looks like we will just have to put our talents to work when I get back and make some darn good lookin cakes because now I know I can do it! ;)
Thanks for letting me know about Uncle Bill, Mom. Everyone has been in my prayers this past week especially Grandma 4C and Aunt Marla. The greatest thing about all of this is that Uncle Bill is happier than he could ever be right now and now he is working on the other side to help others know that families are forever. Could we have any greater blessing? I love this gospel and I love that we will all see Uncle Bill again and all of our other loving family who have passed away. It's only a short temporary separation that we have with our loved ones until we can be reunited again and live together forever in happiness with our Heavenly Father.
Mom, and Dad I want to thank you so much for staying strong in your beliefs and for raising our family in this amazing gospel. I think of the many investigators that we have who don't have the knowledge that we have of this gospel and they don't have the loving reassurance that everything will be ok in the end. I think of those that are converts but the rest of their family doesn't want to join the church or change their beliefs. I can't imagine how difficult it is for them to have this knowledge of eternal families but to have their loved ones not want the same thing in this life. So thank you Mom and Dad. I love this gospel and have a very strong testimony in the Plan of Salvation.
We know that the Lord will come again and we know that we are in the last days. Are we preparing for his coming? Are we strengthening our faith in Christ and helping others come to the same knowledge and faith? If you don't have a strong testimony in this gospel or perhaps haven't quite figured out your beliefs, you better figure them out pretty darn quick because we're not too far away from what has been spoken about and prophesied by the scriptures and our loving prophets. D&C 86:4- The Lord is bringing forth his work more than every in this time. Us as missionaries are God's army who are fighting and preaching to bring the souls around the world to Christ and to help them prepare to meet God. Are we accepting or rejecting His word?
Having faith in Christ and in our loving Heavenly Father is the best thing we could have. If we don't know that we have a Heavenly Father who loves us, where is our happiness. Having faith in Christ is having a light at the end of the tunnel to look forward to. God and his son lives and we will live again with them some day. :)
Thank you everyone for everything and all the love every week. I hope you all take care and have a wonderful week!
Love,
Hermana Forsey
