5th Companion: Hermana Barzola (from Quintos Peru)
4th area: Sucre I've never taught a lesson in front of my mission president
Hola Familia y Amigos,
Hope you all had an amazing 4th of July this last week! I remember last year how we celebrated the 4th in Peru and then later that month we celebrated for Peru's day and then I got to Bolivia just in time to celebrate for Bolivia's day. Three countries in about 2 months. That's a record. ;)
It looks like the health business is sure keepin you guys busy and excited. Tell Dr. Wallach and Dr. Glidden hi for me all the way from Bolivia ;) (Dad, let me know when YOU are the big man on sceen)
Mom and Dad, if you could give Grandma a loving hug from me that will be sufficient. Let her know how much I love and miss her. Also let her know that she has always been one of my role models. I will never forget her snidy jokes and laughs haha. I LOVE YOU GRANDMA FORSEY!!
Down here in Bolivia we are continuing chuggin along. Our investigator Marleny finally came to church this week!!! We had been trying to have an appointment with her for a while but weren't able to so recently this last week we got to meet with her and we're not sure what happened but she sure changed her mind about a few things and we put a baptism date with her! She really needs a lot of prayers so that she can keep on going strong in this path to eternal life.
It was cool to see the difference of how Marleny is now compared to how she was when we first met her. She didn't even know how to pray when we met her and she felt like she was on the brinks of dying. but now, about two months later, she see a light in her and she says that she is just happy. She has been praying every day and we can definitely see the sweet blessings of a simple prayer every day. We are excited to keep on visiting her and helping her strengthen her testimony in this gospel and in the Lord, Jesus Christ.
Tonight we are planning a Family Home Evening with the bishop's family and all of our investigotors who live close to his house. Pray that a lot of them come!!
Today we have interviews with President Hansen so that will be nice to finally meet our mission president! Tomorrow we have a zone meeting with Pres. and Hna. Hansen and then afterward Pres. has plans to accompany my comp and I to one of our appointments with our progressing investigator Paola. Well.. I've never taught a lesson in front of my mission president so that will be a little different haha.
So our knew house is treating us pretty well according to the amazing view we have outside our room :) We have to go down and hike up two roads of death going to and coming back from the pension but we just keep saying to ourselves how we are going to be pretty darn fit in a little while. That keeps us going haha although we get to the door of the appartment and have to take another keep breath to walk up 4 flights of stairs still. (yep, the view is worth it all)
Yesterday in Relief Society, we talked about the importance of Family Home Evening and how everything starts in the home. The family is like a working business, every week we should have a "meeting" to see how the "business" is going. Children should be used to the weekly routine of meeting with the family and enjoying a night together. The Lord has commanded us to have FHE for a reason and he wants each and every one of his children to work together in families so that we can all get back to live with him again. Just like a sport team working to win, we are family teams working to win against the evil tempations of Satan. I know that the family is one of the main gifts that the Lord has given us to be happy. Are we using and loving this gift frequently? I sure hope so! I love my family so very much and I'm so thankful that the Lord has blessed me with a great big family to share this life on earth with. Now I'm here in Bolivia making more and more family :) It sure is a blessing to be in the service of the Lord and to feel his love each and every day here in the mission.
I hope you all have an amazing week this week and take care!!
Love,
Hermana Forsey
