TRANSFER WEEK!
New Companion: Hermana Adama
Location: Ingavi- downtown Cochabamba
Change is good
Hola Familia y Amigos,
So last Tuesday was changes and I ended up in a trio with Hna Boloños and Hna Mullisaca for a night until the next day when I picked up my companion, Hermana Adama because she came in with the new group of missionaries from Peru. She had been waiting her visa in Peru for 6 months so she is finally here in Cochabamba! Things have been good and we have been getting along really well which is great.
We have been working really hard this week do get some good numbers in and to get some people to progress. The people here are awesome but the really hard thing is that pretty much everyone works every day so it's really hard to get people to come to church. Although, we did get Samuel, Sarah, and Adriana to come this past Sunday which was awesome! We also had one of our menos activos we've been visting to come with us for one hour because she had to go to another church with her sister and mom, Maria who we are trying to slowly but surely convert haha. She's a tough one.
Yesterday was pretty rough after church with the work. Every single one of our appointments fell through because everyone forgets about them and they aren't home when we come by. But we ended up being able to get one of mine and Hermana Huarachi's contacts at her house. I can't remember too well but I think she is about 14 years old and her name is Carla. She is super sweet but is very quiet so I think we need to get to know her a little more so we can get her to open up a little bit. We also taught another little girl who is 12 this week who we contacted the other day outside of her house. She is also a bit quite so with time I think we can get more out of her ;)
Paulino wasn't able to attend church this week again because of work but said that he hopes he can come next week. His kids, Sarah, Samuel, and Adriana loved church and we are looking forward to them attending next week again. We taught their mom for the first time this week who only speaks a little bit of Spanish. Meaning she is one of two of our investigators that pretty much only speaks Quechua! But I have been learning a little more and we have been using the book of mormon in Quechua to teach them a little bit. the kids speak a little Quechua so Sarah was able to translate a little bit for us. We stopped by to visit Jorgina, our other Cholita investigator who only speaks Quechua and she always has the best smile on our face when we visit her. She has such a sweet spirit and I can't wait to teach her more. Hermana Vladimira, who we live with speaks Quechua so we are going to try having her come with us tomorrow to help us out a bit. The other day when we visited, Jorgina told us that she had been having pain in her back and in her head. So I was thinking that maybe we could have someone come and give her a blessing. Not more than one minute later, the Elders (secretaries) who live in our area walked by! It was perfect and we ended up explaining a little bit about the blessing and faith as much as we could in Quechua before haha. She seemed to understand! ;) Either way, if she didn't understand, it doesn't hurt anything to have a few missionaries there to show her love and give her a blessing.
This week I'm hoping we can have a lot more success and get more investigators to church! We could definitely use your extra prayers!
Today for pday, we left early to go hike up to the Christ statue! I'll just say next time I'm taking a taxi! Haha too many steps for me. But it was really worth it and it was an amazing view.
Still no packages :( But I'm still keeping my fingers crossed and I'm sure they will get here :)
It sounds like you have had one crazy week with Halli and Averi! haha I have been praying that everything would go well and that you guys would all have fun. Oh and thank you so much Michone for the cute videos and mom for all the awesome pictures!!!
I love you all and hope and pray that you all have an amazing week. Thank you all for the love and support each and every week. It's been crazy hot here when it doesn't rain or isn't stormy so maybe pray for more clouds for us? ;) Haha Love you all and just know that the Lord is present in His work and if we put all our love and effort in doing what is right we will receive more blessings in work and the things we need.
Love you all!!!!
