EXCHANGE Companion: Hermana Lee (from Alpine Utah)
Location: Cochabamba Temple Hill
yes, I went to the hospital...like they told me to cause that's what ya do in Bolivia!
Hola Familia y Amigos,
Well, lets just say this week was pretty interesting and different haha. Last week on pday I started to not feel too great but I like wasn’t dying. BUT this is a totally different culture and the other hermanas kept bugging me about going to the hospital, so I finally just gave in. Oh boy. I’m not in America anymore. Haha people go to the hospital here for everything and that’s just not how I do things… Anyway that was last Thursday and I’ve been feeling great ever since! Haha.
Aside from that excitement, I am actually on an intercambio (exchange) right now with an Hermana from Alpine Utah, Hermana Lee. We have been together since last Friday and things have been great! We’re not quite sure when we are switching back but anyway we have had a great time and let’s just say it’s been pretty darn nice being about to speak some English haha.
I was pretty sad that I didn’t get to teach Sara and Samuel last week because I had to leave but I’m not sure if they came to church or not. Our scheduled visits didn’t really turn out so that was a bit of a bummer because people weren’t home when we said we’d come. OH well, there is always hope :)
So the area that I’m in right now has the temple in it! The house is actually just right up the street from President Dyers' home and the temple. We had a really good lesson about the atonement with a 17 year old girl who lives right by the temple and I guess one day she somehow found the mission offices and went there to talk to someone about the gospel. So we went and taught her and set a baptism date for her. She is super sweet and we can tell she just wants the gospel in her life.
Hermana Lee’s pensionista (cook) is super cute and sweet. We ended up making brownies with her last night after dinner and that was pretty fun. Let me just say they turned out pretty darn delicious ;) Pic included;-)
So Hermana Lee and I get along really well and it looks pretty interesting seeing two North American girls in the streets of Bolivia haha We get some pretty strange looks and maybe a few words said... good thing we both don’t really speak (or understand) Spanish very well! Haha Hermana Lee has only been out since mid May.
Dad to answer your question about the pic of me with the bird, we were actually visiting a member’s and the girl had like three birds! I’m pretty sure they don’t fly because their wings are clipped? Haha but that was pretty fun. But thanks so much for the email last week as well as Mom’s. It was fun reading about your experience about your first week on your mission in Japan. Love you Paps! (don’t be hesitant to write more ;) )
Matt thank’s for the email as well! It’s nice to hear from my siblings every now and again.. (hint, hint) Haha love you guys!
Thank you so much everyone last week for the spiritual upliftment and advice. It really helps so much and it’s awesome to get so much support and love from everyone back home.
Thank you Michone and Mom for all the pictures and videos! I sure hope you are still keeping up with showing all the nieces pictures of me! If they don’t remember me when I come back, it’s on your heads… Haha jk but seriously ;)
So I’m not totally sure when I’ll be back in my area but I know I’ll be here for at least a few more days. Tomorrow we are going over to the mission home to help Hermana Dyer with some things, so that will be awesome.
Dad, sorry I didn’t have the address last week but here it is. I’m not sure if it’s the same one on my facebook but here it is. It is the mission offices.

Ok well looks like a gotta go. I love you all so much and I'm so thankful for all the support and love I have. I know God loves me and is taking care of the people I love while I am out here serving him. Take care everyone!
Hermana Lee had her zone conference and that's where we met for exchanges. So I got to see Hermana Black and Hermana Hill! (Hermana Hill is actually with us right now because we are emailing as a zone, so it's been fun being able to be with someone from my group who came to the mission with me :))
