Dear Familia y Amigos,
Thank you thank you thank you Grandma and Grandpa 4C and Aunt Loli and Uncle Tom for the Christmas money!!!!!! It really is such a blessing and I'm so thankful for you guys!!!
Thank you Mom for all the great pictures!!
I have not yet received the other package that you sent through Fed Ex, but I will still keeping an eye out for it.:)
So we talked with our ward mission leader and I think we are going to go over to his house on Christmas to skype. We told him about 3 pm which is 12 pm there right? I hope that works for you guys! It might be a little later at like 1.. I think I remember my skype name so we are going to figure that out and if I can't remember, I'll just make a new one haha. But I was thinking that we could do it through Cameron's account.. Maybe everyone who has skype can just be logged in around that time just in case ;) I know it will work out so be waiting for my call around 12-1 pm Christmas day!!
Well, I can now say I'm one third of the way through my mission. I completed 6 months last Thursday! Crazy how fast time flies when you're having fun and serving the Lord!
We had a baptism this past Saturday!! Whoohoo! His name is Omar and he is 8 years old. His family actaully converted about two years ago but have been inactive most of the time. They are now active but their dad has not been coming. Their son was never put into the system of the church so it counted as the mission's baptism. We had been preparing him these past few weeks. The only problem was that his parents didn't feel that he was ready because he didn't understand much about the gospel yet. He's 8 years old!! We taught his parents more about baptism and the importance of the covenants we make with the Lord. Omar has had the desire to be baptised and just wanted to follow Jesus Christ. What more could you ask from a little 8 year old?? So we were planning on his baptism but this past Tuesday, Omar's mom said that his dad didn't want him to get baptised now and to wait until he was 9 years old. We had a good lesson with his mom and helped her understanding more about baptism.. she wanted to talk to her husband and see if she could change his mind. This past Friday we went over to their house to confirm if there was going to be a baptism. As soon as we walked in I could just feel such a happier, brighter spirit. We talked to Omar and he said that his dad was going to support him in his baptism! That was definitely a little miracle that we witnessed this week. Also his dad came to church for the first time in months!! I know that the Lord answers prayers and that he is here directing his work. :)
We also have another baptism planned this week of another 8 year old named Carlos! His family are also recent converts this year and are absolutely awesome and super active. We are pretty excited about that and praying that everything goes well.
Yesterday, we had a ward activity. We broke up in three groups according to the three mission areas in the ward because we have 6 missionaries. We also had a little Christmas bread thing for each family. We ended up singing to like 25 families! It was a christmas miracle! Haha it was pretty fun though being with everyone and singing to the families in our ward and the inactives and a few investigators. Whenever we can help others feel the Christmas spirit, that's a real blessing.
So we met a man this week who is supposedly perfect. He told us that he has no sins and even showed us Bible scriptures to support that statement.. Well, I can now say I've met a perfect man! Haha. No, it's actually just another prophecy that this world is definitely growing more and more away in false doctrine and iniquity. He told us that when he needs help with something, he first goes to his pastor and then if he can't help him, he prays. Well, first off. The Lord is our master. He is the one we should always always consult first. When we put our trust and total dedication to the Lord, that is when we become more and more perfect. The Lord is the way. He is the light and life of the world. Man, is nothing compared to Him and we should never ever think that we are perfect. We have disabilities for a reason. That is the whole reason we are here on earth. To be tried and tested to become more like our Savior. and Lord. Humility is one of the most important attributes that lead to learning and progression. Putting faith and trust in the Lord is real humility. I know that I am not perfect and that I have many many things I need to work on. I know that the Lord is here for me when I need him, which is every single day. I could never make myself better if it weren't for His help. It's such a blessing to be part of this gospel and have a knowledge of my Heavenly Father's love and plan for me. :)
I love you all and wish you a VERY VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!! Talk to you soon fam!!!
Love,
Hermana Forsey
