Hola Familia y Amigos,
Thank you soo much Mom and Michone for the pictures!! Haha especially the bathtime one with the girls....Haha that made me laugh.
Oh my gosh Michone, thank you so much for the videos! Make sure to give the girls a HUGE hug and a kiss for me!
Grandpa! Thank you SSSSOOOOO much for the Christmas money! I'm excited to figure out what damage I can do with it here.. ;) Haha
I receive the two packages on Wednesday that you sent through the normal mail mom!!!! I haven't peeked either.. haha all the presents are up in my closet waiting to be opened. :)
Mom, Walmart does not exist here.. But there are supermarkets kinda like it so I can always find what I need.
So this past week was pretty exciting.. We had a few difficulties because there was a protest kinda thing going on the public transportation. It's called paro and all the public transportation other than taxis doesn't work because they want to raise prices. So that went on for about three days here which made it a bit hard to get some places... but... we were taken care of when we needed to get some places that were pretty far away. The Lord has been watching out for us and has always made sure this week that when paro was going on, there just happened to be a trufi (kinda like a carpool van haha) in our path when there weren't ANY MORE in the streets. They are charging a little more for passage but I guess we just have to deal with that.. But I know that the Lord was taking care of us and helping us out a ton this week :)
The rainy season has begun in Cochabamba! We've had a few exciting days this week with that haha. When it rains, it pours! And that's not just a saying here. It's pretty darn realistic haha. The other day, we were up high in our area and it started raining.. earlier we were leaving the house and saying "do you think it's going to rain?" and I just said.. "probably a little bit, but that's ok, I don't think we need out jackets"... haha BAD IDEA. We got dumped on! It started out pretty nice and calm. Five minutes later, we looked like we went for a swim. I didn't have one dry spot on me! Thank goodness my scriptures survived! Yesterday, a girl in our ward spoke because she is leaving on her mission tomorrow. And it was raining super hard again and the church was starting to flood! So they whipped out the squeegies (however you spell that haha) and started pushing the water back out. Talk about flash flood!
We had exchanges this week and I went to the area America which is right next to Ingavi! So we actually passed by Hna Betty's (my old pensionista) apartment so I got to call here and we talked on the phone while seeing each other about a block away from her 6 story apartment haha. That was really nice to be able to see her.
So I got to bare my testimony yesterday in sacrament. First time having to do it in front of that many people in Spanish! I actaully did pretty good I think... ;) Some people thought I had a lot more time in the mission than I do so I guess my spanish isn't too shabby ;)
This week in our Christmas Zone Conference, we talked about humility. I love Alma 26:12. In reality, we are NOTHING without God. Every single thing we have on this earth is lent to us. If we are putting the things we have, like our phones, houses, cars, even our knowledge ahead of God, we are sadly lost to him. But if we learn to give ALL and I mean ALLL credit to the Lord, we will find so much more happiness in this life. Jesus Christ gave us the perfect example of humility. He gave his ALL to the Lord. It may mean that we will be persecuted for our beliefs and actions but only true humility and dedication to the Lord will bring us the highest reward in our eternity. This gospel is true. I can say that with a surety like I can say that the sun will rise again tomorrow. Who doesn't want the happiness that the Lord is offering us? Give everything to the Lord. He will bless you more that you can even imagine. I promise you that. And he does too.
I love you all everyone and thank you again for everything!!!
Love
Hermana Forsey
