5th Companion: Hermana Barzola (from Quintos Peru)
TRANSFER WEEK! GOING TO GET ANOTHER COMPANION!
4th area: Sucre
Travel, Heat, Cold, Interviews & Work!
Hola Familia y Amigos,
First off, HAPPY BIRTHDAY Gramps! (Traylor) ;) Don't have tooo much fun on your special day ;)
HAPPY LATE BIRTHDAY Natalie and Rachel!! Love you cuz's!
So my week was full of travel, heat, cold, interviews, and work! Haha This past Tuesday in the morning, all those going to Cochabamba flew together including me.
After we got there and dropped stuff off, we all went and met up with the new missionaries from the Colombia CCM for lunch. (Mom, I got a good pic of me and Hna Giles for ya) ;) Later, we were free to do whatever our hearts desired haha so I was with Hna Torres and we went and visited a few of her converts and then went and visited Hna Claudia and the fam. I'm sure she told you about it Mom haha. But she came with us to go to the Cancha so I could find a pair of jeans. We had fun with that.
Wednesday, we had a trainers meeting and then went to the mission home to meet our new comps and eat lunch there. (it seemed just like a whole bunch of de ja vu) haha.
My new comp. is Hna Barzola from Quitos Peru! Keep bringin on the Peruvians! haha. Hna Barzola is the 3rd of three girls and one boy. She is the ONLY member in her family. and therefore, she's a tough one. She has tons of patience and is full of energy to work. We get together super well and we are both enjoying our time together here in Sucre.
We flew back to Sucre on Thursday morning with Pres and Hna Dyer. Directly from the airport, we went to the stake center to have our last interview with Pres. Dyer (he and Sis. Dyer are being released the first of July)! Sad but also great as always.
So unlike all you guys up there on the North America continent, we are entering winter down here. I didn't think Sucre got cold but it gets COLD! We have been suffering just a little bit haha. But it's not anything we can't take. The only down side is that we have to hand wash our clothes which get's pretty hard when you can't feel your hands. haha
So this week, we went to visit Helen, our investigator who came to church last week, she wasn't home but we talked to her older sister and said she would come back later and asked if she could be there too. So we came back later that night to have a visit. Helen, her little sister Anaì, and her sister, Geraldyne and her boyfriend, Daniel were there. We started talking to them and Daniel said that he was actaully already at the point to be baptised a while ago when he was living with his uncles (members) in La Paz. So he was awesome to be able to teach and help him receive the lessons once again. The next day, he with his two little brothers, Geraldyne and Anaì came to church! So we're excited to keep on teaching them and see what progress we can have with them. Be praying for them!
Our baptism we were going to have this week wasn't able to happen due to being in Cochabamba and not being to to contact him. But we are going to set another date for two weeks so we can finish teaching and have a pre interview without worrying about doing everything quick.
Well, we're hoping here that winter passes quickly haha, but we're excited to be working here together and seeing what miracles the Lord has planned to show us. I know that the gospel is true and that every single moment that passes by in this life is to learn from. I learn a new lesson every day and I know that the Lord is present. Sometimes we think he's far away, but he's closer than we think. Always trust in him.
I love you all and hope this week goes well for all! Take care!!
