5th Companion: Hermana Barzola (from Quintos Peru)
TRANSFER WEEK! GOING TO GET ANOTHER COMPANION!
4th area: Sucre
Translating for my Latin companion
Hola Family y Amigos,
HAPPY LATE BIRTHDAY BRANDON!!! Love you bro. and I hope you had an
amazing bday!
Mom, I new you would be super happy to receive the email from the guy
that came to our ward yesterday. He was really nice and he was just
like, Hey, we need to send a pic to your mom before we leave! haha.
I'm glad you got it!
We had another great week here in Sucre, and yes Mom, we are washing
our clothes still with freezing water. BUT what doesn't kill us makes
us stronger! ;)
So this past Tuesday, my comp and I were in charge of the kiosk in the afternoon. One of the guys that my comp was talking to was telling her his address. He said a word that my comp was struggling to understand.. so I went over to help her out and the guy said the word again. He was saying "barrio" which is like neighborhood and my comp had no idea what he was saying because he was speaking Bolivian Spanish! Haha so I had to help translate it for her into Peruvian spanish.. Never thought I'd ever have to translate for my latin companions in my mission ;) (in Bolivia they usually say the double r like a z instead of rolling their tonge to pronounce it)
Yesterday, we went to Tejar to pick up a new investigator named Giovana and she came!! She was so cute and she loved the church. She kept asking us if we were going to come next week to pick her up for church. Helen, our investigator who realy wants to get baptised couldn't come to church this week because she has a school thing. That's one really hard thing down here because there are so many activities on Sundays unlike in the Utah bubble haha. But we talked to her about her baptismal date and she is more than excited for that. She is going to try coming to our baptism we are planning this week
for our investigator Juan. Yep, we are still trying to get him baptised. He hasn't been able to meet with us every time we've had an appointment with him so we are really really praying that he will be home tomorrow for our appointment.
We contacted a member's reference this week named Marlene. She had been receiving the elders a few years ago but things just didn't quite progress and I think the elders ended up stop coming to visit her. So we met with her and she shared with us how she is super intersted in learning more about the church because of so many trials that she has been passing lately. So we feel that the Lord has been preparing her for this gospel and she is a little more prepared now to receive the lessons. She was so thankful for our visit and was ancious to set another visit. We are planning on visiting her tomorrow so we are
excited to see if she has been able to do the things we asked her to do such as start praying again. She had forgotten how to pray and was excited to learn again the right way to pray so that she can start talking to her Heavenly Father again. She could really use all your prayers.
We have continued seeing miracles each and every day here in the mission and we are excited to see more this week. I hope you are all able to see miracles in your lives and are thankful for each and every blessing that our father in heaven blesses us with because he IS there and he IS sending us blessings each and EVERY day. We just need to look for them.
I love you all and hope you all have an amazing week this week! Take care everyone!
Love,
Hermana Forsey
