Training and moving a whole block away
Hola Familia y Amigos,
First I want to say THANK YOU for everyone's words in the email this week!! Also thank you Dad for your spirtual thoughts about conference and of course Mom for always sending an amazing letter :)
I haven't been able to read everything still but I will get to read more tonight :)
But Chis and Nichole you better watch that girl when she gets older because she's got those moves down haha. Thank you for the cute video!! And Also Michone thank you sooo much!!
Well.. last night we receieved news of transfers! So first off, we received a call that said we didn't have changes.. then about 5 minutes later after we were super relieved and happy, we received another call that said we DO have changes!! Looks like Hna Donoso and I are BOTH training and I am going super far away from my area (a whole block away)... haha Yep, I'm staying in my ward here in Linde! Woohoo! And I'm just moving a bit lower into the lower part of our area right now which will just be divided into how it was before when we had 6 missionaries in our ward. So I'm super excited to be able to be close to my converts and still be able to support them! We have no clue who are new comps are but we will pick them up this Wednesday so I'll let you all know about that next week.
So this past thursday, we were able to go to the temple with Isabel and Alejandra!! They were so happy and it was so fun being able to see them both doing baptisms for the dead for the first time as new members. Such a blessing that we have a temple sooo close.
So we have actually gone to the temple almost every day last week because I have one spot in my back that has been bothering me lately and one of the temple missionaries Elder Westover who lives there is a chiropractor which has been soo nice. So he has been helping me out this past week :)
Three times a year here in Bolivia they do something called Peatòn which is when there are no cars or anything in the streets from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. It's actauly super cool that they do that but the only bad thing was that it was this past week and it's always on Sunday. So a lot of people didn't end up coming to conference Sunday because they live so far from the church. It was a real trial of faith and dedication for those who DID come from long distances though.
Conference was amazing as usual! Saturday we watched it at the stake center which was awesome because it worked great and we also got to watch it in English.. Sunday we ended up being able to hook up English but it was only Elder Roth and I so we weren't able to watch the first session in English. The other elders then came over to the church for the second session but it ended up just not working at all. So that was a real bummer not being able to see the Sunday sessions in English but the spirit was still amazing as usual and I'm glad I even got to watch it!
I especially loved the talk about keeping the commandments. "Keeping the commandments brings blessing EVERY TIME. Breaking the commmandments brings loss of blessings EVERY TIME." That is soo important that we always remember the blessings we are receiving when we keep the commandments and also the blessings we are missing out on when we DONT keep the commandments. The Lord is here and ready to bless us, we just need to do our part first.
I also loved the talk by one of the Seventy that talks about watching your words. Sometimes, in times of worry or chaos, we tend to say things that we don't quite take the time to think about first. But we CAN practice that and always always strive to speak with words of kindess and love. Just like he shared the story of Sariah and Lehi and how when she was all frustrated and saying some not too nice things, Lehi replied with love and truth. What a great example we have in the scriptures! So may we always strive to have words of love and kindness flow out of our mouths at ALL times :)
I love you all and hope life brings you great blessings and miracles this week! Take care everyone!
Love,
Hermana Forsey
