Spencer...you went for CHEAP! YAY One Smooth Stone!
Hola Familia y Amigos,
FIRST OFF.. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TODAY ASTIN!! HAHA (Hope the family gets you a yummy treat!) ;)
How did everyone's Valentine's day go??
Mine went amazing! Thanks Mom and Dad for the special Valentine!
We had a great week this week full of exciting things! Well first off, so there is an lds family that sells cds and dvd's of the church here and they drive around to different places to sell. Well they know that we have our distrct meeting Tuesdays so they came on by the other week. And guess what movie they had! One Smooth Stone! haha and they only had one copy so I bought it! They are super cheap, only 5 bolivianos which is less than one dollar.... yep, their copies.. haha but they can do anything they want here in Bolivia! haha anyway it is actually really good quality. ;) Ha ha- so Spencer, uhhh I mean David...I got you cheap!
This week we took Alejandra to the temple to do baptisms!!! She absolutely LOVED it! Definitely a blessing for her and also for us :) It was soo cool thinking about the first day that we met Alejandra and how much she has changed as we were watching her perform the ordinance in the temple. Seriously the highlights of my mission.
We are still preparing her mom and her friend Nayeli for their baptism that we have scheduled for this week! So we are going to keep on chuggin along and working hard these next few days! Many prayers would definitely be appreciated!
So changes are in one week and Hna Aguirre is finishing up her mission. It's been a bit hard at times for her but we are keeping strong as we have these baptisms planned. Her parents actually came to Cochabamba this last Friday because the temple is now closed for the next two weeks. So we ended up meeting them in the temple Saturday morning and then going to a session with the missionaries going home this change. So beautiful and another huge blessing being able to go to the temple again. :)
Spritual thought: In our Zone meeting this past week, we talked about how as mssionaries, FIRST, we should be angels. and THEN we can be eternal friends. It's so cool to think that we can practice being angels here on this earth as we enter the lives of so many who have not yet received this loving gospel.
We talked about the angels in the scriptures and how they performed their duties. So that is our goal as missionaries right now in our mission. In Alma 17:11 it teaches us that if we are examples of Jesus Christ in ALL moments and we are patient in our trials and afflictions, we will be instruments in God's hands for the salvation of MANY souls.
So as part of this new mindset, we are also now wearing our proselyting clothes on pday. In our mission, we haven't had to do that but now, President Dyer wants us to work more on being angels and constant examples of Christ. It's pretty different but we will be waiting and watching for the blessings that come of our new goals!
Thank you everyone for everything!! I love you all and hope you all have a wonderful week this week!!
