So does that mean I'm an extraordinary missionary?
Hola Familia y Amigos,
Well I hope you all had a wonderful new years!! We had a great night's sleep here in Cochabamba! Haha We did wake up about five minutes before 12 to enjoy the new year spirit though ;) Cochabamba was loaded with fireworks and we got a pretty great view from our bedroom window so that was pretty fun.
We had interviews with President Dyer this week which went pretty well. We have no clue if he is going to change us this cambio or not but he said that I could be training. AAh we'll find out soon!
So during this change, we have made it a goal to contact the houses high up on the hill that you have to walk to. We had made a few plans to go up but were never able to because every single time, something got in the way. But yesterday we finally were able to go up!! Our ward mission leader, Esperanza came with us and she speaks Quechua so that helped a ton because she could explain a little better what we were teaching. We contacted a cute family of about 8 i think and they were so sweet and willing to listen to us. We invited them to church next week and really hoping that we can have some progress with them :)
We contacted a cousin of one of the families in our ward and had one lesson with him so far. He loves what he is learning and he came to church yesterday! So we're really going to try working with him and helping him progress towards his baptismal date.
Mom, I was reading the little How to be an Extraordinary Missionary booklet that you sent me and I love it! ;) But one thing that it talks about is studying and how extraordinary missionaries love to study and just can't wait to go to bed because they know they get to study again in the morning. Haha Well I was thinking about that and I have really grown a love for studying in the morning! I never thought I'd ever say that I love studying haha but when you study the gospel and you gain from your study every day, that is when it become fun and exciting :) So does that mean I'm an extraordinary missionary? Haha jk but I hope I can continue being a better missionary in every aspect of the mission. Studying every day is only a sliver of what we should be doing as missionaries to become better every day and to become more like Christ.
This week, I decided to start writing down a miracle every day that I've seen. It's been really cool to be able to realize all the miracles that we see every day and to give thanks to God for everything that he blesses us with. I challenge you all to start writing down miracles in your lives every day that you see! It has helped me be more thankful for every day and to really feel the love of our Heavenly Father more.
A sister in our ward shared Alma 7:23-24 this week in a ward activity. I love this scripture and I hope you all love it too. It talks about how we should be humble, submisive, and gentle. We should be patient and long sufferent and obey the commandments of God. If we are all these things we will automatically abound in good works. We should also always pray to our Heavenly Father and ask him for the things we need. And ALWAYS ALWAYS give thanks for every single thing he gives us. Prayer is a blessing and we must always take advantagr of it. Prayer changes things. :)
Well, one more week has passed and time is just flying by like crazy. Take care this week and I love you all!!!
