SENIOR COMPANION
comp: Hermana Donosa (from Equador)
Hola Familia y Amigos,
I hope everyone is doing well back home and that life is treating you all just fantastically!
This past week went really well here in Cochabamba. We finished teaching Isabel (Alejandra's mom) and Nayeli (Alejandra's best friend) and we had a beautiful baptism with those two this past Saturday!! We had been praying that this could happen this past week because it was my comp's last week in the mission! She is actually going home today and right now I'm with a member of the ward. We will be going to the airport later on to say goodbye to her.
It's been such a blessing to be able to have these two changes here in Linde and I have learned a lot from Hna Aguirre and from the people here. I'm so happy that I will be here for at least one more change too!! So looks like I'm still not training this change. I guess I just have to wait a little longer to have a kid in the mission.. ( maybe next change after I pass my 9 month mark.. hahah Jk) Anyway. we got knew of changes last night and my new comp is Hna Donosa if I remember right and I'm pretty sure she is from Ecuador. I will for sure write more about her next week after we are together. She just barely finished her training I'm pretty sure so looks like I'm finally senior comp for the first time! Yo soy la jefa ya! ;) haha just kidding but it will be fun to see what the Lord has in store for us this change and we are going to continue working hard in this area and finding everything the Lord is preparing for us to help.
Sorry this email will be a little shorter because I totally forgot my notebook today that i always use to remember things, darn it.
Spiritual thought:
This Sunday in Relief Society, we talked about the importance of prayer. How we use prayer and how we can be better with that. I shared one of my favorite scriptures about prayer that has never failed to help me in my life. It's Doctrine and Covenants 25:12. It talks about how the song of the heart is a prayer unto God. Well we were talking about prayer and how we could use that to find comfort in certain situations in our life and that scripture came to mind because when I really need comfort in dark situations or just when I'm scared, my prayer is usually a hymn that I love. When I was younger and was scared at night before going to sleep sometimes, I always sang I Am of Child of God, or A Child's Prayer.. Well I guess those are the two songs that are still in my mind when I need them haha but without fail, these two hymns have helped me in many many situations of terror. It's amazing the power of prayer and the power of hymns. I can always always trust in the comfort of my heavenly father when I ask for it. He wants to comfort and help us. All we need to do is ask. Anyone can do that, right?
Well, I just want to end with my testimony that prayer is real. God is listening. He know's when we need help and he knows how to comfort us. I know that he listens to each and every one of my prayers and that he is pleased when I have a song in my heart when I really need it. I know that if I obey his commandments, that he will give me every single thing I need to be happy. And most important, I know that I will be able to live with my family FOREVER. That really is my ultimate comfort in this life. Families can be forever as long as we are doing the things we are supposed to be doing. :)
I love you all and hope you all have an amazing week this week!! Take care and don't forget to pray!!
Love,
Hermana Forsey
