4th area: Sucre only 4.5 months left
Hola Familia y Amigos,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOMORROW GRANDPA 4C!! I love you to death and am happy to hear you still haven't lost your jokes!
Wow it sure sounds like you all had a great week full of activities and family! Mom thank you so much for all the wonderful pics! It's weird how at first it's kinda hard to see all the family together having a great time but as the mission goes on more and you're already have way down hill, it just makes you happy to see everyone together and having fun ;)
I really can't believe that I only have 4 and a half months here in the mission. It's a bit bitter sweet and also weird to start seeing the end of my mission roll out and wonder where my last area will be knowing that I only have three more changes left that I will start in 2 weeks. The weeks fly by like a bullet here and the months seem like days. Even crazier thinking that Jenni will be home in September!!
Ok well down here in Sucre this week, we were able to find a couple investigators who are super sweet. One of them actually was listening to the missionaries like two years ago and the other just seems to like our visits haha. We passed by one of them this week in her tienda (little store) and we convinced her to let us help her out and so we organized the tienda while she cleaned up the kitchen. We haven't really been able to teach her much still but if we can get a little more service and trust in, it's worth it. We will see what we can see in her this week if she has a desire to accept this message that we offer. The other one actually has a salon and she is super awesome. We put a date with her last week for baptism but now we are just waiting for her to tell us if she has an answer. So we are going to pass by this week to see what she tells us.
One of the less actives we found a couple weeks ago came to church which us this week! We actually met her mom too when we went to pick her up and she just told us thank you for helping her daughter return to church because she has seen the great blessings that the church has brought to her daughter. Her mom isn't a member but she is actually very open to listening and she is super sweet. We are going to be visiting her and helping her gain a testimony of this church so that they can both be coming to church together.
Well.. this week in church, there weren't many members who came, including ALL the primary teachers. I think the bishop thought it would be a nice laugh putting the four missionaries in charge then. Sooo that's what he did. haha Well, to start out, we had to round up all the animals in the corral. The elders grabbed a few and dragged em in. while others were already inside going crazy with the chairs and tables. It sure was a war.. haha some running inside and out just to look for little things they lost outside, a couple older kids were dragging some smaller ones in on the floor by their arms. So finally.. we had almost everyone in the classroom. But now the huge problem was trying to get at least one of them to listen. All four of us missionaries were in there and just looking at each other we were just like "well, now what do we do?" haha One of the elders just happened to bring a ton of candy that day in his bad which was definitley a life saver. After about 20 minutes of complete chaos, we were actually able to get some control of those little energy balls and have a little lesson about the book of mormon and a little quiz with the candy. OH boy, I don't think we will ever be able to do that again for a little while at least. We all need a little patience break from that haha. Mom, I honestly wanna know how you work your magic in Primary!
Today for p-day, we all made a peruvian dish as a zone in our pension to celebrate Peru's Independence day today. My comp and I made a jello recipe yesterday at dinner and then I did the serving today. It actually turned out perfect and super delicious. ;) We're thinking of starting a missionary jello business in the market here.. Haha jk jk
So yesterday my comp and I were talking about a few things and I was thinking about the amazing blessing it is to know of this eternal plan the Lord has prepared for us. I was thinking about my converts I've had here in the mission and all the wonderful friendships I've made with all the people, but I was thinking about how I won't be able to be here in Bolivia much more time and how I have to go home and start a whole different life. BUT I was also thinking about how when we all pass away from this life here on earth, we will all have a chance to see each other again. It's something very special to be a part of someone's life change through baptism and know that this friendship and contact doesn't have to end. I have been able to feel this great love here in the mission of eternal friendship and gratitude. I'm so excited to be able to keep these amazing frienships that I have here in the mission and also all that I have made at home. It's a little hard sometimes to imagine or even believe that this plan really is real. But when you have been able to feel even a sliver of this strong love that Jesus Christ has for each and every one of us, it's a little easier to see the reality of it. I love my Heavenly Father and this plan he has for us more than anything and I'm so thankful for the blessing to be a member of His church since I was 8 years old. I can't even thank my Heavenly Father enough for sending me to a mom and dad who have been happily sealed in the temple to be sealed to each and every one of their children for eternity. Wow, what more could I ask for? I just want everyone to know that this gospel is the key to eternal happiness and it all starts with just a little particle of faith to be able to optain that happiness.
I love you all sooo very much and I hope that you all have an amazing week this week!
Love,
