Monkeying Around!
Hola Familia y Amigos,
Mom thanks so much for the great emails! Also the little random ones haha.
Aunt Kris, thank you sooo much for your package! I'm looking forward to open my card and my stocking on Christmas!
Dad, and Chris, Get better soon!! We can't have another plague like last year with EVERYONE sick! Haha
Sorry Mom, I haven't told you guys much about my companions! Hermana Adama my old comp. is from Lima Peru. She has four sisters and two of them are also in the mission! Her and her family are converts and she got baptized at 11 years I think. She is full of love and puts all her energy in the mission and helping the people here change their lives. Hermana Aguirre, my new comp. here in Linde 3 is also from Peru but she is from a place called Tacna that is in the southern part. She is one of two kids, her and her older brother. Her family are also converts and she was also baptized at 11 years I think haha. She is here in the mission basically to just give thanks to the Lord for everything that He has blessed her with in her life. She only has two more changes left in the mission too!
This change had been pretty good. I absolutely love my new area and the people here are awesome. Our area goes all the way up the hill so we always get to have a gorgeous view of the city and the sunsets here, one of my favorite things!
Mom, I haven't found another "Claudia" haha but I'm sure there is someone here that can connect to you.. BUT I can still call Claudia and she is still relatively close. ;) In fact I saw her last night at the temple! We got to go to the temple Christmas Devotional yesterday where tons of Choirs from different parts of Bolivia come and sing. It was so cool to be able to go to that! It was also fun seeing so many people from Ingavi!
We have a good amount of investigators here and some baptisms planned in a couple weeks! The ward here is awesome and is so helpful with the mission work. I'm just excited to see what miracles we see here in this area. :)
Maggy got baptized yesterday!! They had her baptism right after church at 1 and our church ends at the same time so we rushed to make it there but got there after everything while Maggy was sharing her testimony. It was a big bummer that I wasn't able to be there to take pics with her before and see her be baptized but the most important thing is that she was baptized. :) she was just shining with happiness and she is so happy to be able to be a member of the church!!
Change is hard but it is also so good. I know that I will see changes with having a new companion, new area and a new ward. There are always difficult times but there are also very happy times that we must not take for granted.
We live with the old bishop (that just got changed to the stake) and his cute cute family. They have three little kids named Isabella, Carlos, and Manuel. They are the cutest little kids and it is so fun to live in their house. We live in the top floor so we pretty much share the house. Also Hna Mariel, the mom is our pensionista so that's super nice. :)
One thing that the churches should say here is "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints---- Visitors welcome.... and your dogs too.. Haha There was a nice black dog that decided to accompany us in sacrament yesterday. He was very reverent too.. ;)
One family here has a monkey! Haha his name is Martin. But he's pretty poorly educated. They have actually been trying to figure out to do with him. But for now he's living with them. We had some fun taking pics with him haha.
So I was thinking the other day how my new area here reminds me of UM Creek. The other night, we were visiting a few investigators who live pretty high on the hill, and I was just sitting there enjoying the fresh air, the beautiful sunset and watching the flashing light bugs in the bushes around the house. As it got darker, we all looked up and saw a huge shooting star cross the sky. There was a beautiful moon shining too. Wow, what a blessing it is that God has given us so many beautiful things to enjoy and to take advantage of. In Doctrine in Covenants there is a scripture I forgot where but it talks about how God has created this world and everything in it for our own enjoyment. Can we deny the love that God has for us? Take advantage of every little blessing in your life. You'll find that it's a lot easier to be happy and grateful for the things you have. :)
I love you all so much and thank you all for the love and support each and every week!! I love you all soo much!!!
Love,
