DOUBT YOUR DOUBTS
Hola Familia Y Amigos,
First off, HAPPY BIRTHDAY MICHONE!!! HOPE YOU HAD A GREAT ONE!!! Sorry to hear that Matt was called into work. I was thinking about you!
Also, sorry I never told you I got my face medicine mom! haha it was pretty funny though when we were in our house studying and I get a call form Claudia panicking saying you were worried I didn't get my face medicine. Haha
(side note from MOM- Kimmi has mentioned Claudia before in her letters- Claudia Rivera is the sweet sister who gave the wonderful birthday dinner for Kimmi! She and I have become Facebook friends and she is one of the Lord's tender mercies that he has given to me ! It is also wonderful to FB Claudia a question such as Kimmi refers to above about not knowing if she got her facemeds in the birthday packages or if they had been removed by customs- and have within an hour the answer!!! THANK YOU CLAUDIA!!! THIS MOM LOVES YOU SO MUCH!!!!)
To start off the best part of the week... We went to the temple Tuesday morning!!!!! Oh my goodness the temple here is gorgous and I feel so privileged to have a temple in my mission and only about 15 minutes from my house in taxi. It was so amazing to be able to go and be in such a beautiful clean place where the spirit can be felt so strong. So in this mission, as long as you are in Cochabamba, you go to the temple every three months. Awesome right!?
This week we contacted a family who has a son that is a member in our ward. He went on his mission a little while ago and returned after about three months so that's is pretty sad but we met his parents and his two sisters and they are absolutely amazing. His parents are actually old investigators from a while back and have loved having the missionaries over. They have a lot of knowledge about the gospel which is awesome so we have been focusing on them in our study and prayer trying to find out what they need to really understand the importance of the things they already know and understand the importance of baptism. The other day, we went over to visit them for the second time and the dad came to the door and gave us a big welcome and said come in and put your stuff down, we're making pizza! Haha it was pretty fun and after we made pizzas we ate with them and shared a short message about the priesthood before they took us home. I'm pretty excited to be visiting them more and having some good spiritual lessons with them.
Holy cow, conference was amazing!!! And I got to watch it in English which was awesome! It just doesn't have the same meaning when you can't listen to the powerful voices of the speakers and all the cool accents. Also when Eyring gets choked up. Man that just makes conference haha. But anyway it was pretty funny actually because Saturday morning, the Hermana's in the Cobija ward had a baptism before conference and so all of us missionaries were there because we sang a song together for it, but it was about 5 minutes until conference and Elder Van Horn went set it up for us in English and there wasn't any way to watch it in English! So all of us Gringo missionaries that were there were all panicking and then Elder Van Horn (financial secretary) was just like, "We're going to the offices!" Haha so we all ran out and caught a taxi to the offices. Turns out we didn't really have to rush because we ended up hooking up a TV to the internet and watching it that way so we could start it over and watch from the beginning. It was pretty fun because it was kind of like watching it at home with the fam because we were all crouded in one room and it was a little more chill than it would have been at the church ;)
Dad, I also loved the saying about doubting your doubts before doubting your faith. I skimmed through yours and mom's emails so I got a few things but I will read the rest tonight. But anyway, there were some pretty awesome, powerful things said this conference. One thing I LOVED was how much it was emphasized that members and missionaries should be working as one. I never realized how much the missionaries needed the help of the ward until I got here in the mission. WE NEED THE HELP OF THE WARD.. Haha It's so important for our investigators to have a loving friend to come to church with. So if you can help the missionaries, DO IT. They will appreciate it sooo much.
I also really really loved Pres. Uchtdorfs and Holland's talks. It so sad when people leave this amazing gospel because of the mistakes of members. We are human and we will always make mistakes but we must always know that the Lord and His gospel are perfect. Come back, we have space for you. Holland's words were so conforting about the knowledge we have that we will be perfect after this life. There are so many people who suffer with physical trials that are so strong. God gives us these trials because he knows we can handle them and he wants us to become strong so that we can solve and deal with them. We will be perfected in Christ one day but until them we need to keep the faith and stay strong.
Thank you so much everybody for all the love and support. I know this gospel is true and I know I have here in Bolivia to build His kingdom here on earth and save God's lost children. We are so blessed to have the knowledge that we have and it is only selfishness if we cannot share it with those we love who do not have this knowlege. Put your trust in God and he WILL help you. I promise that.
Take care everyone and I love you all so much!!
Love,
Hermana Forsey
p.s. Thanks for all the wonderful pictures of the mountains mom! I was going to ask you to take some! Haha great minds thing alike ;) Also I loved all the pictures from conference. Darn, I think I'll just have to imagine that I got to eat your delicious conference breakfast... ;) LOVE YOU!!!
