Choca, Estas Bonita!
Hola Familia y Amigos,
Mom, hahahaha I am still laughing from your jibjab! Really though, that seriously just made my whole week!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SARAH FORSEY ON THURSDAY!!
HAPPY BIRHTDAY JANET PLAZIER ON SATURDAY!!
ALSO.. HAPPY EARLY VALENTINES DAY EVERYONE!!
Mom, I never got Chris's videa so I read ahead anyway.. ;) But congrats Nichole and Chris!!!!!!!! Woohoo!!!
So something funny that happened this week.. we were crossing the Street to go to the church and this guy was driving by talking on the phone and he slowed down a Little bit so I thought he was going to ask us a question. But he looked at me and said "hold on" to the person on the phone and said to me "choca, estas bonita" (White girl, you are beautiful) . and then continued driving haha. It was just funny because it was very nice how he said it and he said it in a way like I needed to know that. Also it was a lot more respectful than all the other men here who like to Yell out things like that.
We had a great week here in Linde this past week. We had been working each and every day with Alejandra and she was baptised this past Saturday!! We have been seeing the hand of the Lord so much in our área. Despite all the negative things that happen, there are always blessings and miracels that come. So we were busy with her baptism this past week. We are also still working with her mom who was able to be at her baptism and also came to sacrament to support her daughter!! She had some things to do yesterday but she decided to do them a Little later so she could come to sacrament. She really enjoyed it and says that she is going to come to all of church next week. We are going to be working really hard these next two weeks so that she can be baptized February 22nd! One council that we have received is that our progressing investigators have some form of contact each and every day. So that is what we have been working on and we have already seen the amazing blessings of that with Alejandra. :)
So down here in Bolivia, school just started up again last monday and that also means Seminary! Alejandra, and her three friends who all come to our english class have all been going to seminary! They heard about it when they went to church and were so excited to start going. So Alejandra asked us about it and how she can be part of it. The nice thing is that up in Chilimarca, they have it at 7 at night. So that makes it a Little easier for everyone to go.
Well, as you can all see, the Lord has really been hastening his work here in my área. We are so thankful each and every day for all the miracles we see. Of course everything isn't all peachy keen all the time but all we can do is look towards the positive and forget the negative. :) That really is one of the keys to happiness.
Spiritual thought:
So this week I was Reading in Exodus and I really like Exodus 4:10-12 "...I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue. And the Lord said unto him, Who hath make man's mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing or the blind? have not I the Lord. Now therefore go, and i will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say.
Well, I really liked this scripture first of all because I can relate sometimes to Moses when he says he is slow of speech. It's interesting when you get to a point in your misión where your Spanish still isn't perfect but your English has also gotten horrible haha. So I can't even speak very well any language right now ;) But I read this scripture and I have to remember that no matter what challenges we may have, the Lord is watching out for us. He is right by our side and he will help us out with what we can't do. He created us and he knows what we struggle in. That's why we need to have faith in Him that he can help us conquer any struggle that we have. Especially in this misión work, we need to rely on the Spirit and that He will tell us what we need to say to our investigators in the right moment, even if we sometimes feel like we struggle to know what to do. We just need to breathe, calm down and listen to the spirit. :)
Thank you everyone for everything and have an amazing Valentines week this week!! You are all in my heart and in my prayers!!
Love,
Hermana Forsey
